Overview

Upon arrival in Cairo, we start by visiting the Abdeen Palace museums and seeing the holdings of the kings of Egypt in the modern era. Here we will discover one of the most comprehensive collections of Ancient Egyptian relics in the world. After the tour, enjoy lunch at Egyptian restaurant.

Next you will be transferred to Giza in the afternoon to see the Great Pyramids and Great Sphinx in the Giza Plateau, visit the Papyrus museum, and learn how the Ancient Egyptians used it to record their civilization. Marvel at this last surviving monument of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, built more than 4.500 years ago as everlasting graves for the pharaohs Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos.
You will also see the mysterious Sphinx statue of a Pharaoh’s head with a lion’s body.
You will be transferred back to your hotel in Hurghada in the evening.

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, in Cairo, Egypt, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display, the remainder in storerooms. Built in 1901 by the Italian construction company Garozzo-Zaffarani, the edifice is one of the largest museums in the region. As of March 2019, the museum is open to the public. In 2020 the museum is due to be superseded by the new Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza.
